Driver version: 8.561 NEW FEATURES: (1) Support for Ubuntu 8.10 (early look). (2) Catalyst Control Center Linux Edition: Information Center Enhancement. (3) ATI Stream Computing Support. ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) Primary screen may stay blank after switching VT in dual-head mode. (2) Some systems may become unstable when running multiple OpenGL applications with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Series adapter. (3) Catalyst Control Center fails to identify the correct display type connected. (4) CrossFire logo is not shown when playing 3D applications in full screen mode on 64bit Linux distributions. (5) Desktop corruption may occur when switching between multiple X sessions keeping one console in text mode. (6) SUSE 10.3 32bit: Unable to set modes higher than 1600x1200 from command line. (7) SUSE 10.3 32bit: CRT screen corruption may occur after setting horizontal and vertical sync ranges. (8) System with multi adapters may experience problems installing the display driver.

Driver version: 8.552 NEW FEATURES: (1) RHEL 4.7 support. (2) Display scaling to HDTV timings/resolutions. (3) Control Center option to display an ATI CrossFireX logo when ATI CrossFireX is enabled. (4) Xorg 7.4 (Xserver 1.5) support ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) Automatic power state changes when unplugging or plugging AC power. (2) Segmentation fault in amdcccle when launched as root under SuSE 11. (3) Corruption when playing videos using XvMC with mplayer. (4) X startup failure in dual-head mode with only one monitor connected. KNOWN ISSUE: (1) Installing the driver on Ubuntu systems using the community-supported Ubuntu packaging mechanism leads to a failure to load the kernel module resulting in 3D acceleration being disabled. Please install this driver release using the interactive installer instead.

Driver version: 8.542 NEW FEATURES: (1) AMDTM CAL: Computer Abstraction Layer runtime and libraries support. (2) Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) X startup failure on Radeon X1xxx and later AGP cards. (2) Xserver crash after logging out multiple times. (3) Bad Xv video playback performance on AGP cards. (4) Artefacts left on the screen when quickly moving an Xv video window.

(2) Compilation issues against Linux kernel 2.6.26. (3) HDMI Audio support on Radeon HD 3100/3200 products. (4) X fails after driver install for Radeon HD 4870 and FireGL V7700. (5) Choppy playback during video playback. (6) Fatal error while restarting X, after resolution change in amdcccle. (7) Segmentation fault when running textured video.

(2) X server failure when playing media files with XVideo enabled (3) Incorrect error message when applying unsupported TV geometry (4) Segmentation fault when playing Quake 3 Arena(demo).

Driver version: 8.512 NEW FEATURES: (1) Production support for SLED 10 SP2, Ubuntu 8.04 (2) Early look support for OpenSUSE 11, RedFlag DT 7.0 ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) SECAM, NTSC or PAL signal changes when using aticonfig or cccle were not applied to the TV display output. (2) Corruption when switching from laptop's display to CRT. (3) Segmentation fault when launching SUZI/textured video. (4) Direct GL context failure when creating two successive connections. (5) Ubuntu 7.04: aticonfig --enable-monitor no longer results in X restarting.

NEW FEATURES: (1) Dynamic Clock Gating, (2) Enhanced Support for OpenGL Development, (3) Dual Link Monitor Support, (4) Xinerama Support, (5) New X Server Configuration Utility. ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) The ATI Linux software driver installer now correctly identifies the XFree86 4.3.99 X server and (2) access to /proc/dri/0/* no longer results in an oops on kernels that have CONFIG_REGPARM enabled.

NEW FEATURES: (1) PowerPlay Support, (2)fgl_glxgears Update, (3) Initial Suspend and Resume Support. ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) a resolution for drmMap failures on 64bit NLD9 SP2 and 64bit Ubuntu Breezy distribution, resolving an issue that prevented 3D acceleration.

ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) mode2 option in aticonfig now supported as documented (2) Starting X server when the virtual desktop size is set higher than the largest display mode available for the display device no longer results in fatal server error.

ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) Users with X Server X.org 7.1 can now play video using XV. The ATI AVIVO Video adaptor is now present. (2) When failing to change the TV format the aticonfig --tv-info no longer report the failed TV format. (3) Using the MPlayer to play a video file followed by dragging any window over top of the player no longer results in corruption being noticed and the video file pausing.

ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) Setting the display resolution to 400x300 or less no longer results in the mouse pointer not being able to move across the entire desktop. (2) The graphics driver no longer hangs the system shortly after the X Server is started on Red Hat enterprise Linux 3 system running Uniprocessor kernels. (3) Playing a media file under any distribution with X Server 6.9 or greater no longer results in a brief pause or video tearing when resizing the video window or running the mouse pointer over the video player window. (4) Using aticonfig to set the TV format to PAL-COMB-N no longer fails to update the X Server configuration file.

(2) Loading the XVideo Extension on 64-bit Xorg 6.9+ systems no longer results in the X Server segfaulting when launching with Radeon X1K products (3) Running aticonfig--dtop=(horizontal|vertical) no longer results in clone mode being activated when attempting to enable big desktop mode (4) Running through the un-install of the Linux graphics driver no longer results in the /usr/share/fglrx and /usr/share/ati folders failing to be removed

NEW FEATURES: (1) Linux Kernel 2.6.20 Support (2) AMD Catalyst Control Centre v0.9 adds language localization for: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese Tranditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Thai, and Turkish. ISSUES RESOLVED: (1) In certain AGP graphics cards, the system no longer ceases to respond when switching from the X-Server display to a text console.
